Ten hours of pageantry, glitter and feathers, jumping, waving and thousands of happy spectators were the order of the day Saturday as the V. I. Carnival Committee put on its 60th presentation of the Carnival Adults' Parade. Woods was honored for his outstanding lifetime contributions to cultural preservation and Carnival through his work demonstrating and calling quadrille dances. He said he is hopeful that others would join the movement to preserve culture not just for Carnival, but in every day life in the territory. Woods said he was honored by the tribute and that preserving culture through dance is something he enjoys.
